Despite plenty of rain, Genesee County residents turned out in a big way for the first of two free vaccine clinics hosted by Genesee County Animal Care this fall.

The September clinic was one of our most successful to date, with residents bringing their dogs and cats to receive important vaccinations throughout the morning. The response was so strong that, at one point, vehicles were backed up all the way to Linden Road.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who braved the weather to prioritize their pets’ health and safety.

Vaccinations are an important part of protecting dogs and cats from serious, preventable illnesses. Without proper vaccinations, pets can be much more vulnerable to potentially life-threatening diseases such as parvovirus in dogs and panleukopenia in cats.

Providing accessible services like these free vaccine clinics also supports the Genesee County Board of Commissioners’ priority of promoting healthy, safe, and livable communities. By helping residents care for their pets and preventing the spread of disease among animals, Genesee County Animal Care is helping support healthier pets, responsible pet ownership, and stronger communities.

Genesee County Animal Care will host its second free vaccine clinic on Sunday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at 4351 Pasadena Ave. in Flint. The clinic is available to Genesee County residents.
