Genesee County is celebrating in a big way at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad, and everyone is invited!

Genesee County Day will bring a full day of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, history and community celebration to Crossroads Village — and village admission is completely FREE.

This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as Genesee County commemorates America’s 250th anniversary and Crossroads Village’s 50th anniversary.

A Full Day of Free Family Fun

Beginning at noon, visitors can explore Crossroads Village and enjoy activities throughout the historic grounds, including:

• A Resource Fair featuring Genesee County departments, local businesses and community organizations
• Quilts at Crossroads, including a quilt walk, scavenger hunt, Quilter’s Market and a chance to win a custom quilt
• Kid Zones featuring a 50-foot Extreme Fun Run, lumberjack axe throw, bouncy zone and carnival zone
• Free pony rides from noon to 5 p.m.
• Michigan Pedal Pullers
• A Frankenmuth Old Time Photo experience
• The Genesee County America 250 Exhibit, exploring 250 years of national, Michigan and Genesee County history
• A screening of “Alleged,” the 2010 film shot at Crossroads Village
• Food trucks and village food options throughout the day

Visitors will also have an opportunity to be part of history through the America 250 Time Capsule, which will capture a snapshot of Genesee County today before being sealed until July 4, 2076, America’s 300th anniversary.

Parade, Live Music and America 250 Celebration

The afternoon and evening will feature a packed schedule of special events:

1:15 p.m. — National Anthem at Davison Depot
1:30 p.m. — Opening Speeches at Davison Depot (including Chairman Dale K. Weighill)
2 p.m. — Parade throughout Crossroads Village
2–4 p.m. — The 3 Flames live at the Gazebo
4 p.m. — Liberty Tree Ceremony at Lakeside Grill
5:30–8:30 p.m. — 4th Street North live at the Gazebo
6 p.m. — Legislature Tribute & Time Capsule Dedication at Davison Depot
7 p.m. — Reading of the Declaration of Independence at Davison Depot
Dusk — Fireworks

The parade will wind through the streets of Crossroads Village and feature local attractions, organizations and community favorites.

At 4 p.m., Genesee County Parks and the Sons of the American Revolution will dedicate a Liberty Tree in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary. Later in the evening, local leaders and America 250 commissioners will take part in the time capsule dedication.
