The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of residents across our community. During July 2026, GCCARD provided thousands of meals, food boxes, and other essential services to individuals and families throughout Genesee County.

Through GCCARD’s Nutrition Services, 740 residents received 29,878 home-delivered meals, helping older adults and other eligible residents maintain access to nutritious food. An additional 3,393 meals were served through congregate meal programs.

GCCARD’s Neighborhood Services Center also assisted 97 households with critical needs, including water bills, rental assistance and Consumers Energy expenses.

Food assistance remained another important part of GCCARD’s work. During the month, 2,110 seniors were served through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), while 1,207 food boxes were distributed through The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

These numbers represent more than services delivered — they represent neighbors receiving support when they need it most. GCCARD remains committed to serving our community every day and connecting Genesee County residents with resources that help strengthen individuals, families and neighborhoods.
