The Genesee County Health Department’s new mobile health unit, COMPASS, is getting out into the community and bringing important health services directly to residents.

COMPASS (Community Outreach Mobile-unit: Providing Access, Support and Services) will be at the Second Chance Resource Expo on Thursday, September 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1002 S. Saginaw St. in Flint.

Residents are invited to stop by, tour the mobile unit and learn more about the programs and services available through the Genesee County Health Department. Services and information available at the event will include immunizations from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., including vaccines, immunization records, and education, as well as information about Children’s Special Health Care Services and health coverage enrollment assistance.

Visitors will also have an opportunity to step inside COMPASS and see how the mobile unit is helping the Health Department bring services beyond traditional clinic walls and closer to the people and neighborhoods that need them.

By taking health resources directly into the community, COMPASS is helping make services more accessible while supporting Genesee County’s continued commitment to building healthy, safe, and livable communities.
