The Durant-Dort Carriage Company headquarters, located in Flint’s historic Carriage Town neighborhood, is recognized as the birthplace of General Motors and is a National Historic Landmark.

Visitors can tour the historic building and explore exhibits featuring photographs, documents, original furniture, carriages, and automotive artifacts that help tell the story of Flint’s important role in the development of the automobile industry.

Best of all, admission is free, and plenty of free parking is available directly behind the building.

Guided tours are offered Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
