Photos: Trey Day in Genesee County Honors Hometown Hoops Hero

Genesee County, MI — Several members of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners attended the “Trey Day” event at UM-Flint in downtown Flint on Thursday afternoon. Hundreds attended to celebrate our homegrown basketball hero, Trey McKenney, a star of the University of Michigan’s 2026 National Championship team.

Board Chairman Dale K. Weighill presented McKenney with a proclamation declaring May 14 as Trey McKenney Day in Genesee County.

Recently, Trey announced that he is returning to the University of Michigan for his sophomore season.
