October is SIDS and Safe Sleep Awareness Month, and the Genesee County Health Department and Genesee County Healthy Start invite residents to come together for a special Infant Loss Wave of Light event on Thursday, October 22, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
This meaningful gathering will provide an opportunity for families and community members to honor and remember infants whose lives were lost while raising awareness about the importance of safe sleep practices. Through remembrance, education and community support, the event aims to bring people together while helping protect the health and well-being of our youngest residents.
The event will feature guest speakers, remembrance activities, educational opportunities, giveaways and raffles. Attendees will also have opportunities to receive helpful infant care items, including board books, Pack ‘n Plays and sleep sacks.
Event Details:
- Date: Thursday, October 22, 2026
- Time: Noon – 1:30 p.m.
