Genesee County was proud to welcome Flint City Soccer to the Genesee County Administration Building on Wednesday, May 27, for a Welcome Reception and Pep Rally celebrating the start of an exciting season for both Flint City Bucks and Flint City AFC.

Hosted by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, the event brought together players, coaches, fans, community members and local partners to celebrate soccer, community pride and the growing recreational opportunities available throughout Genesee County.

The Board of Commissioners is committed to promoting the incredible recreational assets that make Genesee County a great place to live, work and visit. From youth sports and parks to trails, stadiums and community events, recreation plays an important role in strengthening neighborhoods, supporting local businesses and bringing people together.

A special thank you also goes to the Flint Institute of Music for providing the tunes and helping create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for the event.

The celebration continues this weekend at Atwood Stadium. Flint City AFC will play Friday night against FC Pontiac, and the Flint City Bucks will host their home opener Saturday night against Kalamazoo FC. Both games begin at 7 p.m.

Genesee County is proud to support Flint City Soccer and looks forward to cheering on both clubs this season.
