At Genesee County, culture matters. We aspire to be an organization where people feel valued, supported, and proud to work. Take Your Child to Work Day is an annual reflection of who we are as a proud, community service organization.
This year’s event, held Thursday April 23, turned county buildings into a day of discovery, creativity, and hands-on fun for employees and their children. From meeting Josie the Jail Dog with the Sheriff’s Department and participating in a mock election, to enjoying Happy Camper ice cream, bingo, trivia, crafts, and healthy snack prep, the day was packed with activities that brought families into the workplace in a memorable way.
Kids had the chance to explore all kinds of county services through interactive stations hosted by departments across the organization. They learned about nature with our crew from Genesee County Parks, explored wellness with the Health Department, tested their skills with Fiscal Services, and even experienced a 3D Printing Odyssey with Information Technology. Special opportunities to meet Commissioners and judges also gave young visitors a unique look at public service in action.
More than just a fun day, Take Your Child to Work Day shows what Genesee County is all about: building an organizational culture where employees know they matter.
