Genesee County, MI — At Wednesday night’s Genesee County Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting, outgoing County Treasurer Deb Cherry expressed her gratitude to the Board of Commissioners, as well as her staff and numerous other colleagues across Genesee County.
Cherry elected not to run for another term, and thus the meeting was the last of her tenure. Many members of the Board shared with Cherry their appreciation for her years of service to the residents of Genesee County.
“You have served the community with honor and dignity and I just want to personally thank you,” said Commissioner Delrico J. Loyd of Cherry, who has dedicated over three decades of her life to public service.
Cherry was elected as the Genesee County Treasurer in 2010, stepping into this role during a challenging economic time, and proved herself to be an incredible financial steward and advocate for community and economic development.
