A statement from Dale K. Weighill, Chairman of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, on the passing of former Genesee County Clerk Michael J. Carr:

“On behalf of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, I extend my deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and loved ones of former Genesee County Clerk Michael J. Carr. Michael devoted much of his life to public service, including 27 years serving the residents of Genesee County as County Clerk. His decades in elected office are a testament to his commitment to this community and the confidence residents placed in his leadership. We are grateful for his many years of dedicated service and join all those who knew him in mourning his loss.

Flags at all Genesee County buildings will be lowered to half-staff in his honor.”
