Genesee County, MI —The Genesee County Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission was honored to be nominated for an Art of Achievement Award by the Flint and Genesee Group, a recognition celebrating businesses or organizations that have demonstrated leadership in helping make Flint & Genesee a place of opportunity and inclusion for those who live and work in Genesee County.

While the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission was not selected as the award recipient this year, the nomination itself reflects the important work being done to foster inclusion, equity, and opportunity throughout Genesee County.

“Being recognized alongside so many community-minded, forward-thinking organizations is an affirmation of our mission,” said Elizabeth Jordan, Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission. “This is a great opportunity to increase awareness of our efforts to improve fair and equal treatment for all while enhancing Genesee County’s reputation as a great place to live and work for all people.”

The Art of Achievement Awards showcased an impressive group of nominees, each contributing in their own way to the diversity and vitality of our community. Fellow nominees included the Arab American Heritage Council, Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission, Hope Network, Northgate, Sunny Patch Learning Center, The Crave Academy, and the What’s Up Downtown Project.

Genesee County also congratulates Communities First, which has been selected as the recipient of the Art of Achievement Award. Their work continues to make a lasting impact by strengthening neighborhoods, supporting families, and advancing community-centered development throughout Genesee County.

The Genesee County Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission remains grateful to the Flint and Genesee Group for this recognition and proud to stand alongside so many dedicated partners working toward a more inclusive and equitable future.
