On December 2, 2025, the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission recommended to the Genesee County Board of Commissioners to approve the release of the Draft 2025 Genesee: Our County, Our Future Master Plan for public comment. On December 10, 2025, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners approved the draft document to be released for public comment. The Genesee: Our County, Our Future Master Plan is a combined plan that serves as the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan for Genesee County
Pursuant to the requirements of the Michigan Planning Enabling Act of 2008, this notice is to inform you that this public comment period is beginning. The 63-day public comment period will last from December 22, 2025, to February 23, 2026. During this period, staff will collect comments on the draft Master Plan. When the period concludes, a public hearing will be held to gather any final comments. Staff will incorporate all comments into the Master Plan document. The plan will then go through the approval process.

We will also host three public comment open houses at the following locations:
- January 21 – Clio Area Senior Center at 2136 W. Vienna Rd., Clio, MI from 1:30p.m. to 3 p.m.
- January 27 – Flint Farmers Market at 300 E 1st St., Flint, MI from 11:30a.m. to 1 p.m.
- January 28 – Fenton Community and Cultural Center at 150 S. Leroy St., Fenton, MI from 4 p.m. to 5:30p.m.
A public hearing for comments will be held on February 25 at 1:30 pm in Room 1014 at the Genesee County Administration Building.
