Genesee County, MI — We had a great turnout for the Operation Green Light Kickoff Event in downtown Flint on Tuesday.

County leaders, staff, community partners, and local veterans came together to honor those who served and reaffirm our shared duty to support them in civilian life.

Commissioner Charles Winfrey and Derrick Britton, our Director of Veterans Services, gave remarks at the event alongside numerous veteran advocates. Attendees also took home a green light bulb, courtesy of PFCU Credit Union.

The Genesee County Board of Commissioners encourages its citizens in patriotic tradition to recognize the importance of honoring all those who made immeasurable sacrifices to preserve freedom by displaying green lights in a window of their place of business or residence from November 4 – 11.
