The Genesee County Board of Commissioners prioritizes healthy, safe and livable communities across Genesee County. The Board of Commissioners’ support of the ARPA-funded Senior Centers Capital Improvement Program is just one of many examples.

The Board invested $100,000 in all 16 senior centers across the county to address long-overdue facility improvements and to enhance services to local seniors, ensuring they have access to safe and functional spaces for events, activities, and essential services.

In Mundy Township, the funds were used to purchase a passenger van for senior residents as well as furnishings for their senior center. The $100,000 grants to the Davison-Richfield Senior Center and the City of Burton Senior Activity Center  were invested in interior and exterior facility upgrades.

With improved facilities, centers can offer a wider array of programs and activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our seniors. This initiative underscores the Board’s consistent commitment to ensuring that seniors in Genesee County are supported, engaged, and provided with the resources they need to live their best lives.

Onward and upward!
