Genesee County, MI — Governor Gretchen Whitmer recently announced the appointment of Genesee County Clerk-Register Domonique Clemons to the Michigan Community Service Commission.

The Michigan Community Service Commission utilizes service as a strategy to address the state’s most pressing issues and empowers volunteers to strengthen communities.

This is a well-deserved appointment and we are proud to have Clerk-Register Clemons representing the residents of Genesee County, and all Michiganders, in this role.

From the Executive Office of the Governor:

Domonique Clemons, of Flint, is the Genesee County Clerk & Register of Deeds, having served since December 2022. Previously, Clemons was a Genesee County Commissioner representing District 4, the director of government affairs for the Flint & Genesee Group, and a staffer in the Michigan House of Representatives. Clemons serves on the Michigan Manufactured Housing Commission, Rotary Club of Flint Board of Directors, Genesee County Diversity Equity & Inclusion Commission, Michigan Electronic Recording Commission, Ananich Legacy Foundation, and the Genesee Health Plan Board of Directors. Clemons holds a Bachelor of Arts in public policy from Michigan State University and a Master of Professional Studies in political management from George Washington University. Domonique Clemons is appointed to represent local government a term for a term commencing February 27, 2025, and expiring October 1, 2027. Clemons succeeds Tami Rey, whose term has expired.
These appointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
