Genesee County, MI — On Wednesday evening, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners convened its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

  • Approved a grant award from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the amount of $341,543 to provide for the continued removal of the Hamilton Dam in downtown Flint.
  • Approved an agreement between Genesee County and Easterseals Michigan in an amount not to exceed $115,243.03 to provide intensive family support services for residents.
  • Approved an agreement between Genesee County and Valley Area Agency on Aging (VAAA) in the amount of $852,936 to provide home delivered meals for senior residents.
  • Approved a millage-funded agreement between Genesee County and Genesee Health Plan, in an amount not to exceed $5 million, to provide healthcare services to uninsured residents.
  • Honored the Goodrich High School varsity football team for its historic victory over Niles High School in the MHSAA Division 4 state championship game. It is the first football state championship in school history.
  • Honored the Millington High School varsity football team for its Division 7 MHSAA state championship. A portion of Millington Community Schools is in Genesee County.
  • Approved a contract between Genesee County and Thomas Trucking Services in an amount not to exceed $545,000 for the demolition of the vacant Genesee Valley Regional Center.
