Genesee County, MI — The Flint Institute of Arts, one of the true gems of Genesee County, is the temporary home of a real, honest-to-goodness original painting by Claude Monet, one of history’s most influential artists.

Visiting artwork: The Sheltered Path, an oil on canvas from 1873 by Claude Monet.

From FIA: Mary Cassatt’s Lydia at a Tapestry Frame has been absent from the Johnson gallery while it travels to Philadelphia and San Francisco for the exhibition Mary Cassatt at Work. While it is gone, there will be an exciting visiting artwork in its place: The Sheltered Path, an oil on canvas from 1873 by Claude Monet. Be sure to check out this fascinating landscape by one of the most well-known artists in history.

And here’s the best part: It’s free to see! Thanks to the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage, admission to the FIA is free to all Genesee County residents!

The FIA is open Monday through Thursday from 10 AM to 5 PM, Friday from 10 AM to 8 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday from 1 to 5 PM.
