Genesee County Departments will be closed to the public on Monday in observance of Veterans Day, a federal holiday that honors military veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Did you know?
The date was chosen to commemorate the armistice that ended World War I, which took effect on November 11, 1918. Originally called Armistice Day, it was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to recognize all American veterans, not just those who fought in World War I.
