Genesee County, MI — This fall, Sen. John Cherry (D-Flint) will be joining forces with several Genesee County Commissioners to connect with constituents over a series of community conversations. Hosted across the 27th Senate District alongside Genesee County Commissioners Dr. Beverly Brown, James Avery, Charles Winfrey, Dale Weighill, and Delrico Loyd, these hour-long events offer a chance for community members to ask questions, raise concerns, and receive updates from state and county departments.

“Whether constituents need assistance navigating health care, food, or unemployment benefits, or are seeking other resources, we want them to know that they’re not alone — our offices are here to help,” said Sen. Cherry. “I’m thrilled to be collaborating with my county colleagues on this fall conversation series to not only ensure our neighbors are aware of what services are available to them, but to also hear firsthand about any issues or concerns they want to address. That’s what we’re here to do as elected officials — serve our communities by listening, learning, and leaning into the issues that matter most.”

“These sessions are about creating real connections, offering the chance for citizens to directly engage with decision-makers at the local and state level,” said Dr. Beverly Brown, District 4 Commissioner. “It’s an opportunity not only to provide information about vital services, but also to listen and learn from the people we serve. This is how we can offer transparent, more responsive government for the benefit of all our residents.”

The conversation series will take place from Oct. to Dec. 2025, featuring Sen. Cherry and the following Genesee County Commissioners:
