Genesee County, MI — On Wednesday evening, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners convened its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Here’s a recap of some of the action:

Public Safety & Justice Services

  • Approved a $42,000 increase to the contract with Satellite Tracking of People, LLC for inmate tether monitoring.
  • Approved multiple child welfare and indigent defense contracts totaling more than $1.3 million, ensuring continued legal representation for children and parents in protective proceedings.
  • Approved an agreement with Dr. Larry Kage, D.O. for juvenile center medical services up to $55,000.

Government Operations & Policy

  • Adopted a new Genesee County Volunteer Days Policy.
  • Approved an Annual Evaluation Policy for Direct Reports to strengthen accountability and leadership oversight.

Finance & Administration

  • Approved a purchase order with Staples not to exceed $334,855.78 for countywide office supplies.
  • Approved a budget amendment to the 2025–2026 Appropriations Resolution for internal adjustments.

Community & Human Services

  • Approved an agreement with the Valley Area Agency on Aging totaling $880,358 for home-delivered and congregate meal programs.
  • Approved updates to Genesee County’s Environmental Health Regulations.
  • Approved an agreement with Mott Children’s Health Center for the Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment Program ($66,509).

Infrastructure & Development

  • Approved Lurvey Construction, LLC as Master Developer for the new State Park, managing a project valued at $20.1 million.
