Genesee County, MI —The first meeting of the Genesee County Senior Services Advisory Task Force (GCSSTF) will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. in the Genesee County Administration Building, located at 324 S. Saginaw Street in downtown Flint. This meeting is open to the public and held in the 10th Floor Committee Room (1014).
The GCSSTF was established by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners on a temporary, one-year basis to assess the needs of residents aged 60 and older throughout Genesee County. The Task Force will make non-binding recommendations to the Board regarding programmatic, service, and budgetary priorities for older adults. Findings will be compiled into a written report supported by both quantitative and qualitative data and presented to the Board of Commissioners by June 1, 2026, with an in-person presentation by July 1, 2026.
The nine-member Task Force was appointed by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, with one appointee per district. Members will elect a chairperson to lead their meetings and will make all decisions by majority vote. The group will meet at least monthly, with all meetings open to the public. Administrative support will be provided by the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission, with additional resources as needed to support the work of the Task Force.
