Genesee County was honored last week with a Childcare Champion Award in recognition of the effort, led by the Human Resources Department, that brought the innovative Tri-Share program to the county. This recognition reflects the County’s ongoing commitment to supporting employees and their families by making childcare more accessible and affordable.

The Tri-Share program has been a critical resource in keeping childcare simple and within reach to as many employees as possible. Through this initiative, the cost of childcare is shared among employers, employees, and the State of Michigan, ensuring that working parents don’t have to choose between their careers and reliable care for their children. For many Genesee County employees, this means peace of mind and the ability to focus on their important work knowing their families are supported.

Looking ahead, Genesee County will continue to prioritize programs and partnerships that strengthen our workforce and help families thrive. By investing in solutions like Tri-Share, we are building a healthier, stronger, and more supportive community where working families can succeed.
