Genesee County, MI — On Wednesday evening, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners convened its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Here’s a recap of some of the action:

  • Honors & Recognitions
    • The new Board Auditorium was named in honor of Bryant “BB” Nolden.
    • September 15–October 15, 2025 was recognized as Hispanic Heritage Month.
    • October 5–11, 2025 was recognized as Fire Prevention Week.
  • Appointments
    • Commissioner Charles Winfrey was reappointed to Genesee Health System Board.
    • One new member was appointed to Genesee Health System Board (general member): Ellen Ellenburg. Two other appointments were postponed.
    • One new member was appointed to Genesee Health System Board (primary member): Lesley Mitchell.
    • Two new appointments were made to Genesee County Land Bank (City of Flint and out-county seats): Timothy J. Brooks and Patricia Lockwood, respectively.
  • Contracts & Agreements
    • Approved a contract in the amount of $392,486 with MIHM Enterprises to restore Richfield County Park’s Historic Foot Bridge.
    • Approved a contract in the amount of $169,657 with DnA Drug & Alcohol Testing Center for Specialty Courts.
    • Approved a contract in the amount of $126,795 for regional transportation planning agreement with GLS Region V Planning & Development Commission.
    • Approved a contract with Craftsmen Industries to purchase a Mobile Health Unit.
    • Approved a contract in the amount of $30,000 with Shawna Lee for Health Department program evaluation (grant funded).
    • Approved an agreement with University of Michigan–Flint for Social Work practicum program.
