Genesee County, MI — On Wednesday evening, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners convened its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Here’s a recap of some of the action:

  • Approved $44,800 agreement with The Sports Facilities Companies for market research and cost analysis of a potential sports complex.
  • Created and funded three new Police Deputy positions for security at the newly renovated Genesee County Administration Building.
  • Accepted $1.2 million grant from C.S. Mott Foundation for Operation Arrowhead, a policing services program of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office in the City of Flint.
  • Approved $200,000 agreement with United Way of Northwest Michigan for the County Employee Tri-Share Program.
  • Authorized 2025 Marine Safety Program Grant of $14,950 from Michigan DNR.
  • Approved agreement with Mt. Morris Schools in the amount of $240,000 for court community educational programming at the Genesee County Juvenile Justice Center.
  • Approved a $40,000 agreement with Peacekeepers International for bias and sensitivity training of police and community members.
  • Approved a resolution recognizing Overdose Awareness Day in Genesee County.
  • Approved $740,896 grant-funded agreement with Beecher Schools for Early Head Start Program and another $157,760 agreement with Mott Community College for Early Head Start.
  • Approved an agreement in the amount of $48,000 with InvolvedDad for expectant fathers’ education and training.
  • Approved a $73,997 amendment to VAAA contract to enhance senior nutrition services.
  • Approved a Water Assistance Program Grant in the amount of $27,000 for Flint residents.
  • Approved a $379,541 agreement with Michigan DNR for programming at Genesee County’s new State Park.
