“Earlier this morning, we faced an unsettling circumstance as a bomb threat was phoned into the Genesee County Administration Building. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office quickly conducted a thorough sweep of the building, ensuring the safety of our employees and visitors. We received the all-clear around 9:40 a.m. I want to personally thank the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office for its quick and careful attention to this matter. I regret that situations like this ever occur in the workplace, but we must always take threats seriously until they are deemed to be not credible.

I also want to make it abundantly clear that Genesee County will not tolerate threats against our facilities or the dedicated people working here. This incident will be investigated, and anyone responsible will be held accountable for their actions.

On behalf of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, I would like to thank our employees for their response, understanding and patience during the evacuation. The safety of our employees and our entire community is, and always has been, our top priority.”

Best,

Delrico J. Loyd
