Genesee County, MI — The Genesee County Health Department (GCHD) recognizes that many parents are in the process of registering their children for kindergarten. Michigan law requires that all incoming kindergarteners have documented hearing and vision screenings presented to school officials by the first day of school. GCHD is here to help.

To support parents in meeting this requirement, GCHD offers free hearing and vision screenings throughout the summer. These screenings are conveniently available at various school districts across Genesee County and at GCHD. Some screening clinics operate by appointment or may be held at alternate locations, so we encourage parents to reach out to GCHD’s Hearing and Vision Program for more details. Don’t miss this opportunity to ensure your child is ready for a successful start to their educational journey.
