Genesee County, MI — Residents in Genesee County’s 7th District will breathe a heavy sigh of relief as a stretch of road considered “…among the worst in the county” is in line for a makeover during the 2025 summer construction season.

From Mlive Flint:

The most costly job scheduled is the reconstruction and shrinkage of Clio Road from Coldwater to Stanley Road in Mt. Morris Township. Reducing the width of the road to three lanes and rebuilding the one-mile stretch is estimated to cost more than $3 million.
Road Commission Director of Engineering Alexander Patsy has called that area of Clio Road “certainly among the worst” in the county.

The lane shrinkage, also called a “road diet,” is a common strategy to improve, traffic flow and to accommodate other forms of transportation.
