The Paterson Building, a historic structure in Downtown Flint (653 S. Saginaw Street), is currently under an extensive renovation. This structure was first built by William A. Paterson of the W. A. Paterson Company, a carriage company (and ultimately an automobile manufacturer), in 1869.
The building was damaged by fire and rebuilt in the art deco style in 1931.
In recent years, the building had fallen into major disrepair before being given a new lease on life by the C.S. Mott Foundation and Communities First, Inc. in early 2024.
We cannot wait to see the finished product, alongside all the other major construction and renovation projects in Downtown Flint.
