Check out these spectacular murals in Judge Chris Christenson’s courtroom at the Historic 7th Circuit Court in Downtown Flint. These murals were painstakingly restored more than 20 years ago after they were lost to history for several decades.

In the early 1970s, drop ceilings were introduced to accommodate air conditioning at the Genesee County Courthouse. At that time, sections of the murals below the ceiling line were removed.

These murals represent the history of Flint and Genesee County from early timber to agriculture to automobile manufacturing.

The chandelier is made of brass and copper and is original to the courtroom.
