Genesee County, MI — On Wednesday morning, members of the Genesee County Youth Commission took a tour of the Historic 7th Circuit Courthouse in Downtown Flint. The group met with a pair of judges and an assistant prosecutor to learn more about the functions of the legal system in Genesee County.
The Genesee County Board of Commissioners and Michigan State University Extension 4-H Youth Development program have teamed up to create this commission as an advisory group for the Board of Commissioners. The Youth Commissioners, one from each of the nine commissioner districts, meet twice monthly from January until June to learn about county government and work to improve our community.
A special Thanks to Judge Hood, Judge Christensen and Assistant Prosecutor Matthew Smith for speaking to our youth commissioners! And also a big thanks to Judge Hanible for the use of his historic courtroom.
