Genesee County, MI — On Wednesday evening, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners convened its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Here’s a recap of some of the action:
- The Board honored Fenton High School Senior Lucas Hamlin for his nomination to the U.S. Naval Academy.
- Approved a contract between Genesee County and Preferred Removal Services in the amount of $100,000 to provide for two Opioid and Emerging Drug Death (OEDD) analyst positions. The positions are fully grant funded.
- Approved a grant from the Michigan Supreme Court in the amount of $81,774 to provide for the continuation of the Virtual Backlog Response Docket at the 7th Circuit Court.
- Approved agreements with New American Funding, LLC, Preston Home Loans and Staunton Financial Inc., for the purpose of providing down payment assistance to eligible home buyers.
- Approval of a grant award from MDHHS in the amount of $427,991 to provide for water and sewer bill assistance for eligible Genesee County residents. Contact GCCARD today at 810-768-4675 for more information.
- Approved an agreement between Genesee County and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, in the amount of $314,820, to provide for Genesee County’s Drinking Water and Environmental Health Division.
- Approved a grant award from GISD in the amount of $112,886 to provide for Genesee County’s Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP). This is Michigan’s free Pre-K program for eligible four-year-olds.
