Genesee County, MI — Former Genesee County Commissioner and current Supervisor of Clayton Township, Ted Henry, was appointed to a three-year term on the Genesee County Soldiers Relief Commission, beginning January 2025. Probate Judge Ariana Heath administered the oath of office on December 19, 2024.

The Genesee County Soldiers Relief Commission is an appointed, three-member board of Veterans whose duties include approving emergency assistance grants to Genesee County veterans in need.

Mr. Henry is replacing Mr. Frederick Caruso, outgoing member of the Soldiers Relief Commission, who honorably served a three-year term. The other members of the Commission include veterans Mr. Raymond Jefferson and Mr. Sherwood Pea.

We are grateful to these veterans for their military service and continued service to veterans in the county. In 2024, the Soldiers Relief Commission granted approximately $60,000 in relief funds to Genesee County veterans.

If you or someone you know needs veterans’ services, please contact the Genesee County Department of Veterans Services at 810-257-3068 or by email at v@geneseecountymi.gov
