The Genesee County Department of Senior Services is proud to partner with the Family Service Agency to create a vital resource for seniors aged 60 and above: The Medical Transportation with Liaison program. This initiative not only offers free rides to medical appointments and procedures, but goes above and beyond to ensure our seniors feel supported on every step of their journey.
We are offering peace of mind for seniors, offering assistance from door to door. Our dedicated Liaison service ensures that seniors are helped from their door to the vehicle, accompanied throughout their appointments, and even assisted with post-appointment tasks such as prescription pick-up and errand runs.
And here’s the best news:
This past year, Genesee County Department of Senior Services provided 870 rides, demonstrating a strong demand for this essential service. Building on this success, the program has been expanded with the addition of two new Chevy Traverse vehicles—one of which is wheelchair-accessible. This means doubling the number of rides offered in the coming year!
We believe in providing excellent service for all, and we are proud to be able to continue to expand this critical service to promote healthy, safe and livable communities.
