Genesee County, MI — On Wednesday evening, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners convened its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.
The Board took the following actions:
- Approved a grant award from The Mott Foundation in the amount of $1,180,867 to provide for the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office police patrol and investigative services inside 10 square miles of the City of Flint.
- Approved a pair of grant awards in the amount of $300,000 each from Michigan Natural Resources Trust to provide for the renovation of the historic pedestrian bridge at Richfield County Park and for Flint River access at the confluence of Swartz Creek west of Downtown Flint.
- Honored the MVAA 2024 Veteran of the Year, Mike “Flagman” Bowen of Flushing. Mike’s dedication and service to his fellow Veterans have inspired our community and left a lasting impact.
- Approved an agreement of with Genesee Intermediate School District in the amount of $598,356 for the Great Start Readiness Program.
- Approved an agreement assigning and transferring the operation and current programs of the Flint River Watershed Coalition to Genesee County Parks & Recreation.
