Genesee County, MI — VFW Post 3243 in Fenton is now the proud recipient of a Veterans Microgrant in the amount of $10,000.
VFW posts play a vital role in providing support, camaraderie, and resources to the men and women who have served our nation, and Genesee County is always proud to be able to serve those who have served.
“We’re incredibly proud to be able to support local organizations meeting critical needs of Veterans,” said James Avery, Chair of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners.
The Veterans Microgrant Program, funded by the Board of Commissioners and administered by Veterans Services, is a competitive program that offers a one-time grant to local nonprofit organizations or municipalities to enhance activities and programming that address Veterans’ needs and recognize their service.
Genesee County Department of Veteran’s Services budget has included a total of $100,000 for this one-time grant.
