Derrick Britton, our Director of Veterans Services, was honored to appear in an NBC 25 feature on the Genesee County Board of Commissioners’ Operation Green Light for Veterans.

The initiative raises awareness around the unique challenges faced by many veterans and the resources available at the county, state, and federal levels to assist veterans and their families.

The Board of Commissioners is encouraging organizations, businesses and individuals across Genesee County to light up buildings, bridges, and other recognizable landmarks in green light from November 4-11.

Residents can participate by simply changing one light bulb inside or outside their home to a green bulb. By shining a green light, we let our veterans know that they are seen, appreciated, and supported, and we open up conversation about the needs of veterans and the services that support veteran communities.

To anyone who chooses to participate, please consider using the hashtag #OperationGreenLight to help us raise awareness of this campaign.
