On Tuesday, July 16, the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission hosted another Recycle Day at Mott Community College with more than 200 people in attendance.

These events are incredibly popular, and spots always fill up fast. In fact, for this event, there was an appointment drawing to ensure everyone had an equal chance of getting a spot.

During last year’s collection events, approximately 266,947 pounds of waste was collected. By attending these events, participants are supporting Genesee County’s goal of healthy, livable, and safe communities by taking part in a structured and organized approach to dealing with materials that pose a risk to Genesee County landfills, waterways, and community spaces.
