Genesee County, MI — The Genesee County Board of Commissioners is excited to support the Metropolitan Planning Commission’s role in providing $1.6 million in ARPA funds aimed at significant improvements at all 16 senior centers in Genesee County, bringing much-needed facility upgrades, accessibility, improvements and beautification.

On Monday, July 8, representatives from the Planning Commission, alongside District 4 Commissioner Dr. Beverly Brown, met with Mundy Township officials to sign the funding paperwork for the Senior & Enrichment Center.

“We are committed to supporting our senior communities across Genesee County,” said Dr. Brown, who represents Mundy Township residents on the Board of Commissioners. “We are thrilled to play our part in meeting critical needs of senior residents, and this was just the first of many.”

Chad Young, Mundy Township Manager, will utilize the funds to purchase a passenger van for senior residents as well as furnishings for the facility.
