Martin Cousineau has a led a life devoted to advocacy for his community at the city, township and county level. He is committed to public service that makes a positive impact on all Genesee County residents.

In addition to his many years of elected public service, Cousineau has more than 40 years of experience as a business owner. He has owned and managed a successful chiropractic office and family farm, and thus understands the challenges faced by working families.

Cousineau is a lifelong resident and business owner in the Clio area. He currently resides in Thetford Township in northern Genesee County. He represents the residents of District 7 which includes the cities of Mt. Morris, Clio, Montrose and the townships of Vienna, Thetford, Montrose and the majority of Mt. Morris Township.  

He and his wife, Janet, are the proud parents of two sons and grandfather of three. Commissioner Cousineau’s son, Eric, is an award-winning photographer and artist in New Mexico. His son Tyler is a sergeant in the 82nd Airborne stationed in Fort Liberty (formerly Bragg) in North Carolina.
