Genesee County, MI — The Genesee County Board of Commissioners is taking applications for two positions on the Genesee District Library Board. The seats are open to residents of Genesee County (Flint residents are not eligible) who wish to play a role in shaping the future of library services in the county.

The available seats will be for four-year terms, allowing the appointed members the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the library’s mission and future goals.

“We are fortunate to have a vibrant and accessible library system that serves all corners of Genesee County,” said Commissioner James Avery, Chair of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners. “The Genesee District Library has been a tremendous asset to the county for decades, and this is a great opportunity to be a part of its future.”

The Genesee District Library serves all of Genesee County with the exception of the City of Flint, which is served by the Flint Public Library. There are 19 locations within the library district. Formed in 1980 through a partnership with Grand Blanc Township, the library board consists of 8 members. Four members are appointed by Grand Blanc Township and the other four are appointed by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners.
