A message from the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission:
Wanting to participate in your community’s curbside recycling program, but don’t know where to begin? Getting started is easy, and by recycling, you will directly contribute to a greener, healthier planet right from your home.
How to participate in your community’s curbside recycling program:
1. Call the municipality that you live in.
2. If you don’t already have one, request a recycling container which typically will be provided to you for free. You will either have to pick up the container from the municipal office or one may be delivered to you.
3. Ask for your community’s recycling guide which will tell you when your recycling pickup day is as well as what can and cannot be recycled.
4. Start recycling and make a positive impact on the environment!
Let’s work together to reduce waste and create a sustainable future. Don’t pass up this fantastic opportunity to support Genesee County’s goal of healthy, livable, and safe communities through environmental stewardship. Share this post with your neighbors and let’s make recycling a community effort!
