This evening, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting in the Willard P. Harris Auditorium.
Here’s the recap:
- Commissioners approved several appointments including the following:
- Genesee Health System Family Member (2) seats (3-year term): Gary Jones and William Winiarski
- Genesee Health System General Public (1) seat (3-year term): Jameca Patrick-Singleton.
- Valley Area Agency on Aging (1) seat (2-year term): Richard Wagonlander
- Commissioners approved a request by the Genesee County 9-1-1 Dispatch Authority to place an extension and increase of the 9-1-1 surcharge on the August 2024 ballot.
- Commissioners approved a grant award from the Mott Foundation in the amount of $82,362 to provide for loaned staff at the Flint River Watershed Coalition.
- Commissioners approved a grant award from the State of Michigan to provide for the 2024 remonumention efforts by Genesee County’s surveyor.
- Commissioners approved a grant award from MDHHS in the amount of $750,000 to provide for water payment assistant to eligible Genesee County residents.
- Commissioners approved a request to submit the 2024-25 Early Head Start Expansion application to the Department of Health and Human Services/the Administration for Children and Families in the amount of $2,564,048.
