Genesee County, Michigan — The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC) is pleased to announce that registration for the May 21, 2024, household hazardous waste and electronics Recycle Day event will open on May 7 at 9 a.m. After multiple years of successful appointment only events, this format will continue into 2024.
Recycle Days will be held in Flint on the third Tuesday of each month, May through August. Appointment times and event location will only be released when securing an appointment through GCMPC’s Eventbrite registration. The registration link can be found on the GCMPC website or by clicking here.
Please bring proof of registration in digital or printed format. Without proof of registration, you will be unable to enter the event site.
Recycle Day staff will be available to assist attendees in navigating the site and unloading items from vehicles. Appliances and tires will not be collected at the Recycle Day event.
“Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Recycle Day events over the years,” said Derek Bradshaw, Director of the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission. “You are making a difference in the health of your community by choosing to bring your unwanted waste to a Recycle Day event instead of sending it to a landfill.”
During last year’s collection events, approximately 266,947 pounds of waste was collected. By attending these events, participants are supporting Genesee County’s goal of healthy, livable, and safe communities by taking part in a structured and organized approach to dealing with materials that pose a risk to Genesee County landfills, waterways, and community spaces.
