Genesee County, MI — As part of our focus on creating healthy, livable and safe communities for our residents, Genesee County contracts with the Disability Network to provide temporary and permanent ramps to seniors in need.

Rose Hendrickson, a resident of the City of Burton, recently had her permanent ramp installed.

“This ramp helps with quality of life and getting into my vehicle,” she said.

Another Burton resident, Salvador Narcio, is also a recent recipient of a permanent ramp at his home.

“I’m unable to go up and down stairs,” he said. “I mostly use a walker or a wheelchair. My spouse has a hard time getting me up and down the stairs to go to the doctor.

Thanks to programs like the Senior Millage Ramp Program, the quality of life for members of our senior community can be transformed.
